Petzold - Menuet in G Minor (BWV 115) - Easy Piano Method - Digital Sheet Music

Opus/Catalog Number: BWV Anh.115 Key/Tone: G Minor Year/Date of Composition: 1725 or before, in 1725-40 added in Notebooks for Anna Magdalena Bach (No.5) Difficulty: Grade 3/12 (Easy) Obs.: Although this piece has traditionnally been attributed to Johann Sebastian Bach, recent research has shown that is was rather composer by Christian Petzold, a German composer and organist contemporary with Bach. This minuet has a simple A-A-B-B musical form. During the Baroque period, musicians customarily played menuets in pairs: a first menuet, followed immediately by a second menuet, and then the first menuet played again without repeats. This menuet can thus follow immediately Menuet in G Major, BWV Anhang 114 (also by Petzold), after which Menuet BWV Anhang 115 may be played again without repeats.
