By Bill Staines. By Traditional Canadian Folk Song with Lyrics by: John Calhoun & Bill Staines. Arranged by Richard E Wentzel. This edition: pdf. 19th Century, Country, Folk, Historic. Lead Sheet / Fake Book. 2 pages. REW Music #1262060. Published by REW Music (A0.1697484).

This is a Traditional Canadian folk song written in the late 1800s. It follows a young canadian man's short life as he leave Price Edward Island and moves to Canada in North America to work as a lumber jack. The score is written 6/8 time to give the music a lilting meloncholy sound to portray the trajady he endures from a fatal logging accident. The score is written in the key of G with easy open chords for the guitarist. This makes the music ideal to sing for a soprano or tenor.
