Published by Michelle Mooney (A0.1566890).One of the world's most popular live performers, Ed Sheeran (b. 1991) wrote the song Perfect for Cherry Seaborn (b. 1992) in the first few weeks of dating after reconnecting in 2015. Both Ed and Cherry were raised in Suffolk and were close friends as teens, but after Cherry moved to the UK to study at Durham University they lost touch.
The two married in 2018 and now have two daughters.

The inspiration for the chorus came from dancing to Atlanta rapper Future's track "March Madness" on the lawn at James Blunt's house in Ibiza.
Sheeran subsequently re-released two other versions of the song; with Beyoncé Perfect Duet and an orchestrated version with the Italian superstar Andrea Bocelli. All three versions of the song were released in 2017; Perfect Duet just a week after the first release, and in its original acoustic form as Ed had written it.
