Pat-A-Pan (Patapan) is a French Christmas carol in Burgundian dialect, later adapted into English. It was written by Bernard de la Monnoye and first published in Noël Bourguignons in 1720. Its original title is "Guillô, pran ton tamborin". This arrangement is for string trio, and features multiple variations on the well-known theme, which each of the three instruments having an opportunity to play the melody.
This string trio arrangement includes the second part in both treble clef (when played by a violinist) and in alto clef (for a violist), giving you the flexibility of performing it either with two violins and a cello, or with a violin, viola and cello. From your friends at Zene Strings - enjoy!
