And who doesn't appreciate the opportunity to make donkey sounds with their instruments? That in itself is reason enough to play this piece, in my opinion.
There's a duet for solo Piccolo and solo Bassoon, but otherwise it's all a big tutti. The piece is not destined to go down in history alongside the Great Works, but it does provide a moderate technical challenge suitable for a good high school band or community band. At under three minutes, it's an easy fit for a light program.
