Esoteric, functional concert work
I bought this item not knowing at all what to expect but I am glad to have it in my library. The ten pieces are varied, interesting, clever, and fun to work out. This work is a concert piece no doubt and harmonically is way out on the edge, not unlike some of the music of Gerald Near. However I intend to use four or five of the pieces for church use even in this small midwestern town. Some will have to be edited for length. No. 10 is certainly appropriate for a postlude. I play a two-manual instrument so some of the registrations are difficult to work out but nonetheless doable. If you are seeking something different to stretch your skills consider this work. Highly recommended.
