SATB choir, voice solo, keyboard accompaniment, flute - Beginning

SKU: GI.G-6033

Composed by Albert Dempsey. Christmastide, Christmas Vigil, Christmas Night. Christmas. Sacred. Octavo. 12 pages. GIA Publications #6033. Published by GIA Publications (GI.G-6033).

English. Text by Phillips Brooks.

This graceful setting is a lovely, viable alternative for solo and SATB choir to the familiar sing-a-long version. It develops and stretches the text, leading to a nicely augmented "O Lord Emmanuel" on the final verse. It is not complicated and honors the words beautifully, setting apart verses with an interlude for solo flute underscored by choir singing without text. Dempsey, Albert (Mike).
