This SATB anthem with piano accompaniment is a straighforward setting of Edward Osler's communion poem. The choir parts move in homophony or simple counterpoint, rhythms are principally half and quarter notes, harmony is triadic. Beginning in F major, the piece modulates to B-flat toward the end. Soprano and tenor parts range to high F, basses go down only to B-flat. Although the piece reaches forte occasionally, it is, over all, gentle and appropriate for communion.
