Lovely but surprisingly incomplete
This is a lovely edition, exactly what I'd hoped for in format. But the publisher omits a few of the pieces because they have been published elsewhere. How frustrating! What's the point of a nice edition of this material if it's incomplete?

Perfect Edition
This is the best edition I have found of the Bach Notebook. As expected for an urtext, the edition has only what Bach actually wrote: no additions or simplifications. But Barenreiter shows how the C clef fits in with the treble and bass staves, since the original did not use the treble staff. The fingering is reasonable for even young children. All of the original ornaments are included. The original composers are also given whenever we actually know. Many students are surprised to learn that Bach didn't write Minuet in G!

Great music
First of all I must say this book has got some great music. I must say this book really took a great selection of songs. I would recommend Menuet 115, Musette and Prelude. Those songs are really beautiful, well Musette might not be beautiful in the conventional way, but it's sure a very fun song to play. Also I would like to say, don't be fooled by the way this book is written! Every song seems really easy to play, but I must say they are very challenging. Being in my third year of piano class I have been in contact with most of the songs already by now, and I would say that you really have to work hard to get these songs right.I would say this book ranges from early intermediate to late intermediate depending on the song(s).

GREAT
Even for a pianist such as myself who is capable of sight-reading the pieces it is still a treasure to have such remarkable pieces in your repertoire as they will never die out
