The best of Dennis Alexander
As a pianist and teacher, I've played through many of Mr Alexander's books, but his two books of Nocturnes are amongst his best. These Nocturnes are very Chopin-eqsue in terms of their melodies, harmonies, and structures, but are shorter and less technically demanding, making them a great pathway to the piano works of Chopin. Some of them are very moody and dark (No.9 in A minor), while some are serene and beautiful (No.12 in D flat). These Nocturnes are playable for Grade 6-7 (ABRSM) pianists, and a must have for any pianist!

Astoundingly Beautiful
These were just published in 2018. Some composers' new works possess less magic than their previous ones. But not in this case! Truly gorgeous. These can be played quietly and unobtrusively or......if in the mood, get ready to emote!!! Really very pleased with both books 1 and 2 of Dennis Alexander's new Nocturnes. Astoundingly beautiful.
