Moonlit Ranch was inspired by a poem written by a close friend about horses riding around a ranch under an eerily purple sky. The piece captures the stillness of the air, only distrubed by the movement of the horses themselves. The use of pedal tones and lower harmonies helps to underscore the dark and mysterious feeling of the piece and the poem.
