Mary, Did You Know? by Kathy Mattea Vocal Duet - Digital Sheet Music

By Kathy Mattea

Super popular Christmas song for advanced piano/vocal.Following PENTATONIX, this arrangement is in B minor, good for solo piano, but also good for all voices, high or low.In addition to the complete piano arrangement, this purchase also includes a 2 page lead sheet (Melody Only plus Piano/Guitar Chords), for more flexibility in performance. Also in this arrangement:-Optional descant (high) harmony for the Bridge of this song, in case you (like my wife and I) are performing this with a mix of high and low voices.  Note that PENTATONIX male lead sings the bridge in range comfortable for baritone or alto, rather than an octave higher, which would be OK for high voices (tenor/soprano), but too high for low voices (baritone/alto).And following PENTATONIX example, for DUET Vocal performance, singers could divide up the verses, and join together on the bridge, using the included descant harmony. Kathy Mattea's original recording in F# minor is great for her, but is too high or low for most singers.Other transpositions also create as many problems as they solve. So, good luck!

New Christmas Song

When I heard this the 1st time, I immediately thought it was NEW. Imagine my surprise that it was written for release in 1991. Many other artist recorded, but it wasn't until 2017 I heard it. When I finally got a piano, it was a song that was consistently on my mind. I purchased and play at least once daily. It requires plenty of practice to play the speed, correct notes, hold notes... I'm grateful to have it so I can practice it everyday!
