By Dr. Sheri L. Masiakowski. Composed by Sr. Theophane Hytrek OSF. Arranged by Dr. Sheri L. Masiakowski. 20th Century,March,Religious,Sacred,Wedding. Score. 11 pages. School Sisters of St. Francis #1033046. Published by School Sisters of St. Francis (A0.1453796).

Intermediate difficulty.
Originally published in 1956 for weddings these marches serve any occasion. The opening composition, “Marche Nuptiale,” may be played as a complete unit through m. 53.

If played as a wedding march, there is a complete change of character in ms. 54-71. At this point it introduces the Latin Introit—Mode III of the Nuptiale Mass found in the Graduale Romanum: Deus Israel conjungat vos, et ipse sit vobiscum, qui misertus est duobus unicis: et nunc, Domine, fac eos plenius benedicere te. P.T. Alleluia, alleluia. Ps. Beati omnes qui timent Dominum: qui ambulant in viis ejus.* This section may also be played independently while the couple approaches the altar as an introduction to the sung introit.

*“May the God of Israel join you together; and may he be with you, who took pity upon two only children: and now, O Lord, make them bless thee more fully. Ps. 127:1 Blessed are all they that fear the Lord; that walk in his ways.”

The Recessional, an A B A form, serves any Sunday as a postlude or a practical extension after the main recessional at a wedding (key of G with frequent flat 6-Eb). The B section begins with the pick-up to m. 28, a practical extension when repeated with its succeeding A section to lengthen the composition.

Sr. Theophane presents the pair for use on a two-manual instrument. The dynamics provide an easy conversion for a three-manual performance.
