"Machito" is a Pete Rugolo original, composed for the 1946 "Artistry in Rhythm" album recorded by the Stan Kenton Orchestra. This arrangement follows the original closely, but the key and certain background figures have been changed to make it accessible by college and better high school bands. The solos for piano, trombone, and trumpet have been preserved. The score and parts are nice and clean, with written-out rhythm parts.
