Delightful arrangements of Bliss's hymns
As part of The Hymn Heritage Series, Hayes has arranged hymns by Philip Bliss (a composer who collaborated with various lyricists). All of the arrangements are tastefully done. I particularly like Hallelujah, What a Savior, I Will Sing of My Redeemer, and The Light of the World Is Jesus. I Gave My Life For Thee (a rarely arranged hymn) seems promising as well. The version of It is Well with My Soul in his book is different than Mark's older arrangement in Well-Tempered Praise and The Best of Mark Hayes. While I prefer the older arrangement, this new arrangement is still quite nice. As with almost all of Mark's piano work, pianist will find the selections inside to be of high quality. These arrangements are at a late intermediate-early advanced level.

Nice Arrangements
The arrangements are very nice, and sound very inspirational and soothing.I had hoped this would be more advanced level than it was.I was dissapointed, in that it was easier than what I prefer to play, so I was able to sit down and play all the songs at first try and sight reading.

Not a fan
Phillip Bliss died in the Ashtabula Train Disaster, so being from Ashtabula, I bought the book....Was not a fan of these arrangements....if I could sent the book back...I would....just not a fan of any of it.
