Bow markings on clarinet part?
This quintet is a fabulous piece, and I highly recommend it for any strings/clarinet chamber group or aspiring student. But when I click on the preview of the clarinet part, it has bow markings (V). What's up with that?? Were all of the editors string players and they assumed that maybe a string player would try to transpose the clarinet part in their head? I think it's really distracting for someone reading the music because clarinets don't have bows. Maybe they're phrase markings? Still, they're distracting. I'll decide on my own phrases, thank you. It would be nice to see a different edition without these markings in the clarinet part.
