Composed by Traditional English Jig. Arranged by Serena O’Meara. This edition: pdf. Celtic, Folk, Historic, Irish, Renaissance, Wedding. 23 pages. O'Meara Music #1292121. Published by O'Meara Music (A0.1730287).

There are two Renaissance melodies named Kemp’s Jig. This melody lends itself well to Wedding Processionals or Recessionals. The melody is 24 measures long separated by interludes. Verses 2 and 4 are variations on the themes in Verses 1, 3, 5. The Harp part is playable on either Lever or Pedal Harps. Score & Parts, 23 pages.

Besides being known for his comic roles in both Shakespearean plays and in troupes alongside William Shakespeare, William Kempe (c. 1560-c. 1603) was known for his publicity stunt in 1600 of betting on himself that he could Morris Dance from London to Norwich (about 100 miles). The pamphlet that he published after the feat was “Nine Days of Wonder”. The cover on this music is the sketch from his pamphlet.

This product was created by a member of ArrangeMe, Hal Leonard's global self-publishing community of independent composers, arrangers, and songwriters.
