Not for performing
This collection misses the mark by marring half the backing tracks with godawful synth strings and brass. More the pity because it's completely unnecessary- the jazz trio backing track (piano, bass, drums) present on every track would have been more than sufficient, alone. The arrangements are fine, the selection is nice, but if you're looking for something to *perform* to, know this collection only has 7 usable tracks.

Great selection for beginners.
The arrangements are written very simply - perfect for a beginner (although some shifting experience is helpful). As an adult who has played other instruments for years but is new to the violin, I love that I can play the basic piece and then build on it - much the same way a pianist might take a fake book and improvise off that.

Play along should be harmony, not melody
I needed solo violin sheet music with accompanying piano for Cry Me a River. I was so disappointed to hear the retarded sounding marimbas (keyboard?) playing the melody line along with the violin (me). I was told there are other ways to do this (as with a karaoke machine), but I don't have the time or technical know-how to play around with machines. The play along should simply be harmony, not melody with the solo instrument.
