Homilius’ motet "Ich will den Herrn loben allezeit" HoWV V.17 is one of the few compositions by the Dresden Kreuzkantor to have survived in an autograph manuscript. Alongside its many homophonic sections, the motet also offers the opportunity to shine with high notes and coloratura, and to master surprising harmonies. In addition to the present version (a whole tone lower in B-flat major with an optional continuo accompaniment ad lib), the Urtext edition (Carus 1.701/10) is also available.
