I Saw Three Ships (for 5-part a cappella choir) by Sharon Wilson A Cappella - Digital Sheet Music

By Traditional

"I Saw Three Ships"

This arrangement of "I Saw Three Ships" includes 8 verses with a "da-da-da" interlude after verse four. To add interest (and challenge), Part 4 sings a counter-harmony while Part 1 sings a descant, verse 3 is unison, and there is a key change for the last two verses from D-flat to D.This arrangement was originally written for a high school men's chorus comprised of all Baritones; therefore the vocal ranges for all parts are nearly the same: G-flat2 to A-flat3 and A-flat 2 to D4. This arrangement would also work for a mixed choir with mezzo-sopranos and altos singing Parts 1 and 2 and either males or females on the melody (Lead vocal range = A-flat2 to D-flat4; or an octave higher for mezzo-soprano).
