Ascending and descending “vamps” in a variety of grooves.
Sharp keys: While school bands and orchestras may not play in sharp keys, such keys are not unusual in church orchestra settings. (Guitar players love sharp keys and guitar players currently write a lot of popular church songs.) These warm-ups give your players a chance to see, hear, and play in such unfamiliar keys. Doing so will sharpen their sight-reading, tuning, and playing skills whether or not they ever play in such keys.
Voicings use dominant, major and minor 7th chords.
