The piece Grande fanfare par Rossini with its second name "Le rendez-vouz de chasse" was composed in 1828 in Compiegne near Paris in France, while Gioacchino Rossini spent his first longer stay in France. Ist was an occasional work with 4 hunting horns (French "trompes de casse" in D) as solo instruments accompanied by orchestra and is one of the very rare pieces with this instrumentation. The arrangement is one half tone higher than the original key for symphony orchestra to be in the key for Austrian hunting horns in E flat and was first time performed in July 2013 by the Municipal Band of Zirl, Tyrol, Austria together with the Tyrolean Horn Ensemble conducted by Albert Schwarzmann at the Innsbruck Proms (Innsbrucker Promenadenkonzerte).
