Composed by Spiritual. Arranged by c.e. walz. Christian,Christmas,Spiritual. Score. 4 pages. C.E. Walz #3381015. Published by C.E. Walz (A0.767641).Grandma says, "All Christmas carols should be spirituals because they all lift my spirits!" I think we know what Grandma is saying. The hope, the anticipation, the joy of Christmas is many times embodied in its music. A truly delightful Christmas spiritual, Go, Tell It on the Mountain is arranged here with a little swing. The children at my church sing this carol with gusto (and Grandma joins right in!) This intermediate piano solo does have a little syncopation and should be practiced at a slower pace at first. Four pages, key of F with no key changes, approximately 2:20 minutes performance time. Perfect for a Christmas service prelude or offertory.

I buy quite a lot of digital music as I am a church musician. During Covid-19 we're not singing but I read the words and then play a few verses so I like to have an interesting arrangement. I love this one and I know the congregation will. They'll all be tapping to the jazzy beat. I have another by this arranger--c.e.walz--Twas in the Moon of Wintertime. I had enjoyed this so much I was looking for any more she had done and found this one, which I like just as much.
