Brian Fairbanks has taken this well-beloved spiritual and beautifully adapted it for SATB choir. All vocal parts are set in their respective warmest range. The middle verse portrays the "dark midnight" of life with a 'pianissimo' choral line, supporting the soprano melody. "You can have all this world, give me Jesus" is repeated throughout, with interesting harmonic and dynamic variations. This would be a lovely introit to a worship service.
