Fantasia on My Father’s World opens with a melodic thread flowing like a river from horn to horn before glimpses of the melody appear. The melody coalesces in the first horn part while the river flows and swirls underneath. Following a brief interlude, the melody reappears in the second horn part before eddies and current move the melodic line from horn to horn.
This intermediate level, two and a half minute piece is well-suited for performances as part of a worship service as well as part of a concert repertoire.
