Composed by Claude Debussy. Arranged by Peet du Toit. This edition: pdf. Latin. 1 pages. Peet du Toit #1451378. Published by Peet du Toit (A0.1892837).

Soirée dan Grenade comes from Debussy's small group of impressionistic piano pieces collectively called Estampes (Prints or Engravings), composed in 1903 and first performed early the next year by his close friend, the Spanish pianist Ricardo Viñes.

The piece opens with the languorous and seductive rhythm of the habanera - a Cuban song or dance, named after the Cuban capital of Havana. The music gathers power, then gradually relaxes again. A quick flutter of notes momentarily breaks into the balmy nocturnal mood, before the music dies away, the rhythm of the habanera continuing to sound almost to the end.

This transcription for Violin and Cello will take you there to enjoy for a moment.
