Cascade Gardens is a small park area in the foothills of Hobart’s Mt Wellington/Kunanyi, within close proximity of the Cascade Brewery (oldest continually operating brewery in Australia, established in 1824). The Gardens are well-established and provide a quiet, reflective environment and additionally, a place for family gatherings and fun. A well-used and loved track follows the Hobart Rivulet all the way up to the Gardens (and beyond) from the Hobart City boundary. This piece’s intent is to provide a sense of journey and fun associated with a ‘day out’, alongside taking time to contemplate, reflect and take in the richness and beauty of the surrounds.
