"Bridge Over Troubled Water" is Simon & Garfunkel's iconic song that won 5 Grammy Awards in 1971. It was actually inspired by a gospel song. It has become a signature anthem of comfort and solidarity. This Trio arrangement begins simply, sincerely and unassumingly with the cello on the elegant melody. On verse two the 2nd violin gets the solo while Violin I plays an obligatto part while the cello covers the arpeggio accompaniment. The ending finds the insruments in close harmony and simple rhythms when - like the lyrics imply - we all find a path through the chaos as we willingly offer to help carry somone's load and ease another's burden.
