Here is a fun winter song, called Blizzard Blues, composed for young students who want a cool (pun intended) song about wanting to be out enjoying the snow but having to go to school. It's a great introduction to 12-bar blues form for young pianists, and also is a great opportunity to learn about dotted whole notes and 6/8 time in a very easy context because the lyrics make it easier to pick up the timing. Makes a perfect song for a December, January, or Christmas recital or just a fun song to enjoy in the last few weeks before the holidays!
