This arrangement grew out of Chris' original 2002 string quartet, by the same name. It is baroque in style and is a variation on Jim Stewart's sea shanty The Marco Polo . The shanty singing of Saint John’s pride in the building of the tall ship Marco Polo “the fastest ship in all the world”. This arrangement was played under a narration containing information on the building of the ship and including entries from the ship's log of voyages; read and performed at the 2002 production of : The Marco Polo Suite - A Folk Opera. Marco Polo being a 19th century ship responsible for transporting and populating Australia during the late 1800s. Works nicely under and art show or othe rnarraton of historical significance.
