A Pachelbel Christmas
Fred Kern gives us a wonderful weaving of familiar Christmas carols over the ground bass pattern of the famous Pachelbel Canon in his Pachelbel Christmas, made accessible to the younger generation taking piano lessons from the generation who enjoyed a legendary recording of Hits of the 1730's which was my first acquaintance with this wonderful Baroque composer. When Christmas is over the student is ready to play Fred's arrangement of the Pachelbel Canon. Of course, one can reverse the order of learning these two arrangements, thus great joy year round.

PACHEBEL REFRESHED
I first heard Mr.Kern's Pachebel Christmas for full band and hoped there was an arrangement for solo solo key board when I found his simpler but charming version at She et music plus.

Great Teaching Tool!
I have used this piece for several students needing to transition from grade 2 to 3. It provides a challenge for the advanced beginner and puts them solidly in intermediate level music
