Wonderfully creative arrangements
CREATIVE - BRILLIANT - FUN!These arrangements are absolutely brilliant! Never would I have thought of a jazzy wedding but these arrangements work. In fact, my band plays these for our contemporary worship services and they have been met with great enthusiasm not only from the players but also the congregation. Curry breathes new life into these classics and I do believe J.S. Bach would heartily approve! He is NOT rolling over in his grave - instead he is leading the standing ovation.

Now for something completely different!
I will admit that I was just a little dubious about a jazzy wedding collection. But then I began seeing YouTube videos of bridesmaids dancing down the aisle, and I realized that these days, just about anything goes. If the bride is interested in stepping out of the box, so to speak, these pieces can be an effective way of using well-known wedding music, but twisting it up a notch or two. To me, the prettiest piece is one I would be careful about using without asking. Not being Catholic, I can only surmise that some Catholic clergy might take exception to a jazz-chorded Ave Maria. But it really is tasteful and beautiful. Not long ago I had occasion to use the entire contents of A Jazz Inspired Wedding in a setting I think is perfect: an after-the-fact wedding reception. I played the Trumpet Voluntary as the couple was announced and went from there. Lots of notice and compliments.

Can't wait
I can't wait to use this book at a wedding. The arrangements are fun to play, entertaining and unique for an upbeat wedding. I wouldn't hesitate to grab this book when pre-planning with a bride and groom.

Great resource!
Like all of Craig Curry's books, this one is full of wonderful, new arrangements featuring standard wedding music. A great twist on these old (and worn out) songs we all have to play for weddings. Keep up the good work!

Craig Curry never disappoints!
Craig is one of my favorite arrangers. This book is no different than all his others - creative, intuitive, playable, and FUN!. You'll want to play these arrangements over and over. Many of these can be used for other church services as well as weddings. I love it when jazz goes classical!

May I present for the first time.....
Never would have thought about wedding music in this format, until I began noticing YouTube videos of Harlem Shake wedding parties, completely forgoing the traditional processionals and recessionals. But if a bride would like to step out of the box, Craig Curry has provided the opportunity to select a surprise piece or two from this collection. One caveat: if the very traditional venue is known for a grand organ and trumpets en chemade, I probably would not suggest this music - HOWEVER, I would definitely suggest it for the reception...particularly if you can get a bass player and drummer (for which there are optional printable parts). I played a reception, not long ago, and when the bride and groom entered the room, and the emcee announced the new Mr. and Mrs., I launched into Curry's brand of Wedding March. It was perfect. Then I played the whole book. So enjoyable to play - great wedding party music!

A Jazz-Inspired Wedding
I expected good creative writing. I expected Advanced writing. None of this was in the music.I know these pieces will not be played by me. I like improvisation and jazz, but this book does not make the mark of good useable music.
