Really nice difficult duos.
These duos are really good and difficult. But they are more difficult in this edition because half of them were for the C clarinet, yet all the duos are for Bb clarinet. They are too high, going up to F# and some in the key of D. In 1800 they’d be almost impossible to play on a Bb 5-key classical clarinet, which they were played on and I play them on. So I have to transpose them down a step on the C clarinet, which is a drag. Better to publish them on the C clarinet and transpose up a step, which we’re used to. Very nice printing and paper, excellent quality.
