Guitar - intermediate to difficult - Digital Download
SKU: S9.Q10915
Composed by Napoleon Coste. This edition: Sheet music. Guitar Archive. Score. Op. 38. Schott Music - Digital #Q10915. Published by Schott Music - Digital (S9.Q10915).
The first edition of the "Etudes de Genre" (25 Études de Genre pour la Guitare par Nap. Coste Op:38) by Napoléon Coste was published by Richault in Paris in 1873. Following his normal practice, Coste conceived the studies for a seven-string guitar. This instrument was extended in the bass region by the addition of a seventh string tuned usually to D but occasionally to C. In adapting these studies for a six-string guitar both the tuning down of the sixth string to D, which is customary today, as well as the octave transpositions recommended by Coste himself have been taken into account. The sequence of the studies has been altered in order to make it more progressive.
