Dit boekje met een kleine verzameling studies en oefeningen is geschikt voor leerlingen vanaf een 2e of 3e jaar koperen blaasinstrumenten (met ventielen). Het is vooral de bedoeling het te gebruiken als aanvulling bij verschillende andere methodeboeken. Sommige van deze studies zijn zelfs bruikbaar als solowerkjes bij examens of wedstrijden.Ze werden geschreven met de bedoeling 'leuke' hulpmiddeltjes te zijn bij enkele moeilijkheden als AANZET, ARTICULATIE, KLANK, LIPBINDINGEN, SPRONGEN, CHROMATIEK, LEGATO, ZINSBOUW (met vooral het aanleren van een consequente ademhalingsplaats) en zo meer. Een creatief gebruik van dit boekje is natuurlijk aan te bevelen (wisselende tempi, toevoegen of weglaten van bindingen, veranderen van ritmiek, veranderen van volume, etc.) en laten we over aan de verbeeldingskracht van de gebruiker. Deze studies kunnen een aanzet zijn om problemen op een meer aangename manier aan te pakken. Er werd heel duidelijk rekening gehouden met de tessituur.
