Youth Music has announced that it will be taking its popular singing tutorials to Manchester, Liverpool and Birmingham.
The Youth Music Voices Launch Events will be heading to the three cities later this month on October 23rd, 24th and 31st respectively.
As such, the organisation has called upon talented vocalists in each of the destinations to come forward and make themselves available to take part in the one-day workshops.
Attending the Youth Music Voices Launch Events could be the first step towards joining Youth Music’s national singing team and becoming part of London 2012’s Cultural Olympiad.
The event, one of many taking place in specially selected locations across the country, will be led by Youth Music Voices’ artistic director, Richard Frostick alongside a number of special guests.
Youth Music explains that the ultimate goal of the events is to select 150 young singers from all over the UK to form the Youth Music Voices Ensemble.
“Young people who are invited to these workshops will take part in more advanced singing activities which will be a key part of the recruitment process for the Youth Music Voices Ensemble,” the body explained.
Promising to be unlike any other ensemble in the UK, it will have its own style, individuality, leadership and specially commissioned repertoire and will perform throughout the London 2012 Cultural Olympiad.
In addition, the young singers will be given the opportunity to perform at a prestigious London location in the lead up to the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
Participants at the Liverpool, Manchester and Birmingham-based workshops will also be able to gather more information on local choirs and singing groups from within their area.
