Musicroom’s York store – Banks Music – has recently received glowing praise from MI Pro, the UK’s leading musical instrument retailers magazine.
The article – seen in the November issue of the magazine – featured three UK music shops from the York area which received a ‘secret shopper’ visit from the magazine’s Adam Savage.
With it’s origins dating back to 1756, Banks is undisputedly the UK’s oldest music retailer and this pedigree shone through during Adam’s visit. With three floors of musicality to enjoy, there is something for everyone.
With an eye firmly in the future, there is a large area dedicated to digital pianos and other high-tec musical instruments and accessories, but there is still reams of sheet music available from stock and a large choice of traditional orchestral instruments – strings, woodwind and brass. There is also a large ukulele section in response to the recent surge in interest in this versatile little instrument and a lovely selection of world percussion.
Added to the choice and welcoming atmosphere the shop offers, is a team of friendly and knowledgeable staff. To quote Mr Savage, Banks Music is: “the UK’s most complete music retailer”.
He then goes on to say: “Even if you’re not in the area, it’s worth going out of your way to visit”.
So next time you find yourself in Yorkshire, why not drop in and enjoy the most complete musical shopping experience to be found in the UK.
