Yamaha has revealed that its internationally acclaimed piano series is set to continue at Malvern Theatres from Friday February 4th.
The manufacturer has revealed that renowned concert artist Artur Pizarro will be performing a programme of works by Granados and Prokofiev for the first performance in the series.
And this will be followed up by performances from Jean-Efflam Bavouzet and Stephen Hough on Friday March 11th and Friday April 1st respectively.
Portuguese artist, Artur Pizarro has a long history of public performance, with his first taking place when he was just three years old.
He began performing regularly from the age of 13 with a concert at the Sao Luiz Theatre in Lisbon and made his concerto debut with the Gulbenkian Orchestra later that year.
Commenting on the partnership, Yamaha’s Mike Ketley, said: “Yamaha pianos are now becoming an increasingly popular feature on the world’s concert platforms.
“We are proud that these recitals allow us to continue to present some of the world’s finest pianists in an idyllic setting whilst reinforcing the quality and musicality of our concert instruments.”
Pizarro is planning to perform using Yamaha’s new CFX concert grand piano when he takes to the stage later this week.
The CFX has taken twenty years to develop and is an entirely new instrument in terms of its piano action and construction. Yamaha says that it has received acclaim from artists around the world as a result of its tonal excellence and power.
Pizarro performs internationally in recital, chamber music and with the world’s leading orchestras and conductors including Charles Dutoit, Sir Simon Rattle, Jean Fournier, Philippe Entremont, Yan Pascal Tortelier, Sir Andrew Davis, Esa-Pekka Salonen, Yuri Temirkanov and Vladimir Fedoseyev.
