Profile of Peter Baartmans

PeterBaarBorn in 1960, at the age of 6 Peter had already started to play music, setting the foundations of his musical life and career. Having studied piano and church organ as a musical academic, first at the Bergen music school and later at the conservatory of Tilburg, Peter indulged his broad interest in a variety of music styles.
During his studies he began playing play jazz in several jazz combos and a popular big band group, moving on to play in a Dutch pop-band – a move that would lead him to become a popular session player for a number well known Dutch artists.
Peter won the national and European finals of Yamaha’s Electone Festival in 1980 and began working for Yamaha Musical Instruments a year later, first as a local demonstrator for Electone in Holland. After touring and demonstrating Yamaha products across the world, inckuding U.S.A., Australia, Latin-America, South-Africa, and all over Europe, he worked also as a programmer for digital keyboards and digital pianos for Yamaha in Japan.
He travels to Musicroom Lincoln to demonstrate Yamaha’s impressive CVP-609 Clavinova –  the latest innovation in their world famous line of digital pianos. His experience and expressive playing informs his unique and unmistakable presentation style. Music is an integral part of Peter’s life. In his own words: “Music is not just my profession, music is my passion”.
