The Welsh maths teacher wowed at auditions with his cover of Damien Rice’s Cannonball, garnering incredibly positive verdicts from the judges.
Gary Barlow said: ‘John that is one of my favourite songs of all time, and I hate people singing my favourite songs, because it always lets me down… you absolutely nailed that vocal!’, while Tulisa Contostavlos added: ‘You have a beautiful tone…I think you’ve got a lot of potential.’
