Wroclaw Guitar Festival, Poland

The 12th annual Wroclaw Guitar Festival (Wroclawski Festiwal Gitarowy in Polish) is now on.
Running from the 19th to 28th November, the line up at this year’s event is as good as ever – with Tommy Emmanuel, CGP & Friends (like Martin Taylor, Johnny Dickinson, Richard Smith, Stephan Joscho), CaƱizares, Jesse Cook and Louis Winsberg and many others all taking to the stage.
The concept behind the festival is simple; to give this majestic instrument a platform to shine. Every year the festival invites some of the leading lights of the music world to show off their skills on the six-string. There is one main concert per night, held in one of Wroclaw’s most prestigious venues such as in the Philharmonic Hall, the Hala Ludowa, or the Great Hall of the Wroclaw Town Hall. In addition to this concert, the festival is also accompanied by master classes, workshops, instrument displays, music publishing presentations, and meetings with the artists themselves.
The Wroclaw Guitar Festival deserves to be haled as one of the best in the world, its uniqueness lying in the extraordinary diversity of styles, presented repertoire and genres of guitar music performed during the event. Nothing is off limits (musically speaking) with every taste catered for. From classical guitar, to flamenco, to jazz – even the lute is included – the diversity and artistry displayed brings an ever growing group of enthusiasts to the event.
