Video: ABRSM Music Medals for early stage learning

ABRSM have released three videos exploring their Music Medals assessments for early stage learning.
The videos look at how teachers can incorporate Music Medals into their teaching and make learning music in the classroom a more rewarding and fun experience for youngsters.

With an enjoyable and award-winning repertoire and teaching resources from ABRSM, this new range of accredited assessments measure and celebrate the achievements of pupils at the earliest stages of learning to play an instrument.
Music Medals features five progression levels – Copper, Bronze lead players to their Grade 1, with Silver, Gold and Platinum medals offering encouragement and rewards for further musical progress.
Copper and Bronze medals are an ideal follow-on from whole-class learning and provide stepping stones to into Graded exams.  With each level, young players are awarded with a certificate and, of course, a Music Medal.
Music Medals in Practice: Incorporating Music Medals into your teaching

Music Medals are available for most commonly taught instruments, covering three activities: playing together, playing solo and musicianship skills.
Depending on level, a Music Medal takes between five and ten minutes to complete and so can take place during a normal music lesson. Performances are filmed for assessment by the teacher and moderated by ABRSM.
