This Is England screening to feature live music from Ludovico Einaudi and Gavin Clark

This year, Warp Films are celebrating a decade of ground breaking film making. To mark the occasion, a special live score screening of Shane Meadow’s This Is England is set to take place on October 12 at BFI Southbank, in collaboration with the British Film Institute.
The showing will feature a live score performance by Ludovico Einaudi (right) and Given Clark (below right) – the first time the film will be shown in such a manner.
The screening is part of this year’s BFI London Film Festival, which runs throughout October from the 10 to the 21, and tickets are on sale now.
Since their debut production in 2002, the short My Wrongs #8245-8249 & 117 by Chris Morris, Warp Films have grown to become a leading light in the UK’s film industry, with a reputation for successful and innovative films.
Released in 2006, Shane Meadows’ This Is England is one of the most celebrated, popular and poignant British films of the last decade – an excellent choice to screen in celebration of Warp’s 10th anniversary.
The live performance of Einaudi and regular Meadows collaborator, Gavin Clark, will bring a very special and unique element to the showing. The work of both artists featured heavily in the original soundtrack, which played a huge part in creating the film’s gripping tone and authentic setting.
Music by other artists such as Toots & The Maytals, The Specials and Soft Cell also features on the soundtrack.
The success of This Is England spawned two spin-off TV mini-series, This Is England ’86 and This Is England ’88, which were broadcast on Channel 4 in 2010 and 2011 respectively. A third series, This Is England ’90 has also been planned.
The film trailer below features adult language and themes that some may find offensive.
