Hal Leonard Europe & Musicroom are proud to announce a long-term partnership with leading music charity Youth Music as the main sponsor for the first-ever Youth Music Awards, which will be held at Battersea Arts Centre, London on 16 October, when the winners will be announced.
The Youth Music Awards will celebrate the achievements of young people taking part in Youth Music funded projects, across all genres, all over the country. The award categories include Outstanding Act, Original Track, Music Video, Lyricist, Live Performance and Music Producer, and there will also be recognition for Leaders, Innovation, Entrepreneurship and Social Impact.
The music awards have been judged by a panel of music industry figures from 1Xtra, YouTube Music, Capitol Records, Columbia Records, Virgin EMI, Live Nation, Black Butter, Vice Media, Ninja Tunes, Amazon Music UK and many more.
The Youth Music Awards is a major new event in the music calendar. With music education in UK schools under considerable threat, support for music-making in the community has never been more vital. The Youth Music Awards will highlight the talent, diversity and excellence of young music makers and underline the essential role that music plays in their lives.

About Youth Music
Youth Music is a national charity investing in music-making projects that help children and young people develop personally and socially, as well as musically. It works particularly with those who don’t get to make music because of who they are, where they live, or what they’re going through. Young people take the lead in choosing what and how they want to learn, making music of every style and genre.
Youth Music’s work is funded by the National Lottery via Arts Council England, which enables it to support more than 350 music-making projects each year, reaching 89,000 children and young people aged 0-25. But there’s more to do. Right now, Youth Music can only invest in about 40% of the projects applying for funding, so it’s calling for more donations to help even more children and young people.
Youth Music is grateful to People’s Postcode Lottery and the other trusts, foundations, companies and individuals who donate and fundraise to help the charity provide additional music-making opportunities.
