The Institute unveils scholarship details

Young musicians in the UK will have the chance to take advantage of a number of scholarships at the Institute.
Internationally regarded as a leading European school of modern music, the Institute has extensive experience in developing and delivering high quality courses for contemporary musicians and songwriters.
And now it has been announced that over £36,000 worth of scholarships for students looking to study on the school’s one-year Higher Diploma course.
Four separate categories are available – guitar, supported by Yamaha Guitar and Total Guitar Magazine, bass, supported by Musicman Bass and Bass Guitar Magazine, drums, supported by Mapex/Paiste and Drummer Magazine and vocals, which is supported by Shure and R&R World.
Each category includes one full scholarship, worth over £5,000 to the winner, and one partial scholarship, worth £2,500 each.
The Higher Diploma is a specialist one-year full-time course, developed by the Institute to train and develop students of guitar, bass, drums and vocals for a career in the music industry. It was also the first full-time course of its kind ever developed in the UK.
It aims to teach students a wide range of contemporary styles, as well as helping them to discover their creative potential and fast-track the development of their playing and performing skills.
“With over 25 years of experience in the sector, the Institute is considered by many to be one of the pioneers of contemporary music education in the country, leading the way with innovative courses and services,” the establishment explains.
Previous students have gone on to perform with some of the biggest names in the music industry thanks to the Institute’s unrivalled teaching and top-class facilities.
The closing date for all applications to the various scholarship schemes is February 17th 2011. The scholarships are open to anyone from the UK or internationally and the application form is available to download from the school’s website.
