The Essential 14 Songs To Listen To When It's Raining

Summer rain is an evocative thing. The smell of the water hitting parched earth, the brilliance of the refreshed grass and foliage, the mad panic of people at a garden party dashing to shelter, Pimm’s sloshing around in their glasses. Perhaps it’s just us, but it seems an exclusive trope of British weather to interrupt our well-laid plans by chucking it down as soon as we’ve all put on our best sun hats – picnics are left sodden and all we have to show for our efforts are a few soggy Kalamata olives, a puddle of Percy Pigs and wind-battered bunting.
