Sir Elton John reveals Glee ambition

Since it arrived on our television screens back in 2009, Glee has been an instant hit. A winning formula of catchy sing-a-long classics combined with cameos from top stars has helped it to attract a large and diverse audience.
It has featured stars such as Britney Spears, Madonna Gwyneth Paltrow, Josh Groban and Olivia Newton John among others and now legendary singer/songwriter Sir Elton John has expressed an interest in appearing on the show.
The 63-year-old has revealed that he is a big fan of the musical TV show and would love to make a cameo in it.
“It’s a great show, it’s fun, I can’t believe people don’t like having their music on it, I just think it’s a compliment,” Sir Elton told the Press Association.
Indeed, the Rocket Man singer recently teamed up with Glee star Matthew Morrison, who plays Will Schuester, for a duet on the actor’s debut album.

After the collaboration, Sir Elton said: “I just did it. It’s a duet. It’s great, really fantastic. He sings great on it. It’s a medley of Mona Lisas And Madhatters going into Rocket Man.
“I haven’t been asked to go on Glee but I love the show, it’s such a positive show and I enjoyed doing the Matthew Morrison duet very much.”
Meanwhile, Lea Michele, who plays Rachel Berry, is due to perform America the Beautiful at the forthcoming Super Bowl between the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Green Bay Packers
She will join Christina Aguilera, who will sing the national anthem at the event.
The music of Glee has been a commercial success, with over thirteen million digital single sales and five million album sales. In fact, the cast of the TV show recently overtook The Beatles’ record for the most appearances in the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart by a non-solo act.
