Experimental electronic composer Scanner joins Music Sales

Robin Rimbaud – the London based artist, writer, plasticien sonore and composer also know as Scanner – has signed with music publishers Chester Music, part of the Music Sales Group.
Scanner’s music encompasses sound design, film scores, computer music, avant garde, contemporary composition, rock music, jazz and large-scale multimedia performances along with product design, architecture and fashion.
You can listen to his work using the Soundcloud player below:

His comprehensive approach has been described as “[traversing] the experimental terrain between sound, space, image and form, connecting a bewilderingly diverse array of genres”.

“He is very experimental because he is searching in a realm of sound which is not usually used for music … he has a good sense of atmosphere.” Karlheinz Stockhausen, BBC

Scanner has been intensely active in sonic art since 1992, producing concerts, installations and recordings. The albums Mass Observation, Delivery, and The Garden is Full of Metal were hailed by critics as innovative and inspirational works of contemporary electronic music.
The list of artists and musicians he has collaborated with is impressive, and includes the likes of Bryan Ferry, Dangermouse, Laurie Anderson and The Royal Ballet. His work has been presented throughout the United States, South America, Asia, Australia and Europe and he is currently the Visiting Professor at Le Fresnoy National Centre for Contemporary Arts in France.
Commenting on the publishing deal, Scanner said he was “delighted” and was looking forward to working with Chester: “It connects my work with a wealth of history, with fellow composers and writers who have often changed how we listen to music today.
“In a creative world that has become increasingly disenchanted with the business of music it’s a joy to come aboard with people who truly cherish music. I believe my work will bring something unique and distinguished to their catalogue and long after I’m gone that they can continue to share it with the world at large.”
