PRAISE FOR GRANT AND I

“The truest and strangest poet of our generation”
Nick Cave

*****

“Few rock artists have been remembered as perceptively and unflinchingly, yet also lovingly, in prose”
Mojo

*****

“an insightful history of a band that won over critics and gained a worldwide following without enjoying the commercial success many believed they deserved, as well as being a colourful overview of the 1980s indie music industry in Australia, Europe and the US.”
The Australian

*****

“wonderful insight into the punk, post-punk and ’90s music scenes, detailing the band’s brushes with REM, Nick Cave’s The Birthday Party, Lloyd Cole and Scottish cult act Orange Juice.”
Adelaide Advertiser

*****

“a fascinating glimpse into a life richly lived and a key friendship along the way.”
Courier Mail, Brisbane

*****

“the tale is passionate, funny, unflinchingly honest and ultimately very moving”
The Saturday Age

*****

“They weren’t big on complimenting each other, Forster points out, but one feels sure McLennan would nod in approval of this absorbing appraisal of their illustrious careers.”
Weekend Australian
