Rae Mac's Rock Around The Clock

Inspired by watching John Barrowman dancing in his pants on The Best Of Children In Need the other night, Rae Macintosh Music has decided to jump into Children In Need with both feet this year. Unlike Barrowman though, we will remain fully clothed!
On Saturday the 20th of November we plan to stage a sponsored jam session in the shop. Music will start at 9am and keep on rocking until we run out of tunes or musicians. While we do intend to rock for a bit, we will equally happily “classical”, “folk” or “showtune” depending on who we have and what they want to play.
All volunteers can join us for a little or a lot of the time as we head towards our target of 12 hours non stop music…although I’m willing to bet we can last longer if we try! 12 hours wouldn’t even dent the collection of sheet music we have in the shop!
We are looking for musicians of all standards. Singers, flautists, guitarists, bongo experts, recorder players, ukulele lovers, didgeridoo players, pianists are all welcome. Even if you don’t have a voice worthy of public consumption or an instrument to strum, we will furnish you with a kazoo in exchange for a £2 donation to Children In Need.
If you’d like to take part then please either phone us on 0131 225 1171 or email at edinburgh@musicroom.com. All participants will receive a 10% discount on books, accessories and gifts for the day.
Some people may be too shy to join our happy band. If this is the case then you are encouraged to become an enthusiastic audience member (crowd surfing not required). You can also participate by either sponsoring the team for each hour they keep the music going or just by giving us a donation for the cause.
Help us to keep rocking around the clock!
